Course
The course aims to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to facilitate a wide variety of groups.

Aims

  • Provide participants with theoretical models of group dynamics
  • Help participants understand the necessity of building group cohesion, trust and examine ways of creating a safe environment
  • Provide participants with an understanding of the legal aspects of confidentiality in relation to their responsibilities as a facilitator
  • Participants will be provided with an understanding of the importance of continually monitoring their own skills as a facilitator
  • Participants will explore the importance of the principles of Equity, Diversity and Interdependence and the legal framework of Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act
  • Through an experiential learning process participants will examine the stages of group development
  • Participants will be provided with an understanding of different methods of evaluation for the funder, the organisation, the participants and the tutors
