Exploring Diversity: Facilitating Community Relations Work

Course
The course is designed to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to facilitate cross community work with diverse groups.
Aims:
- Understand and practice facilitation skills necessary for community relations work
- Have knowledge of our history since the Act of Union 1801
- Design a programme for respective age groups
- Have an awareness of how to develop an Anti Sectarian Policy
- Be able to differentiate between prejudice, stereotyping, discrimination, racism and sectarianism
- Understand demographic changes in Northern Ireland
- Candidates will devise, facilitate and evaluate a community relations programme
- Understand the concept of citizenship.
