Interface Areas Interface Monitoring Forum - The Peace and Reconciliation Group (PRG) has facilitated confidential work with representatives from various interface communities throughout the city since 1998. This project aims to set up regular meetings between local communities to build up trust with one another and to discuss local issues around what is happening in the communities. A mobile phone network currently connects one such interface area and the key numbers are circulated to the whole community along with an information sheet notifying community members as to what is happening and why it is taking place. This network is intended to keep community leaders in touch with each other so that they can quell any rumours that are circulating between the areas. This communication link allows residents who are feeling threatened, intimidated or just want to know what is happening in the area to have a direct way of finding out. This link has been particularly important during times of heightened tension, such as the marching season.
