Intermediate Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills

Course Aims:
* Understand the different responses to conflict.
* Examine how behaviour contributes to conflict.
* Enable people to work positively with diverse individuals and groups and deal more effectively with them.
* Introduce participants to a mediation process.
* Give participants practice in co-mediation.
* Develop questioning techniques.
* Help participants use a range of skills in mediation session.
* Help participants
recognise the appropriate use of a caucus in a mediation session.
* Write a balanced agreement.

Course Objectives:

This course is designed to develop the skills of those who have completed our introductory course on Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills. The content of this course is delivered though an experiential learning process that will include role-plays and reflective feedback by tutors and peers. The participants will be introduced to a facilitative mediation process that will focus on a six-stage model of mediation.

On successful completion of this course, participants can apply fo a place on our Open College Network Accredited Confilct Resolution and Mediation Skills Advanced Course.
