Advanced Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills

Course Design:
This course is designed to develop advanced mediation skills.

By the end of this course the learning group will:
  • Have an understanding of theoretical models of mediation.
  • Have an understanding of new developments in mediation practice in relation to Northern Ireland/United Kingdom and America.
  • Have an understanding as to the limits to mediation as a conflict resolution mechanism in relation to large groups and cultural conflict.
  • Have an understanding of how to write agreements as legal documents.
  • Understanding case development practice in respect of pre-case development.
  • Understand level of emotions and have developed personal strategies for coping with own emotions.
  • Understand group mediation practice when there is a multiplicity of numbers involved in a conflict scenario.
  • Understand how mediation can help disputants reach effective resolution by identifying and creating options for disputants.
  • Have learned advanced negotiation skills in facilitating dialogue between disputants in a mediation session.

    Who is the course for?
    This course is designed for those who have already completed the Intermediate Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills course. Also for anyone who has undertaken basic mediation training with another creditable organisation and can produce evidence of attendance.
