Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills Course
Design: By
the end of this course the learning group will:
Have an understanding of theoretical models of mediation.
Have
an understanding of new developments in mediation practice in relation
to Northern Ireland/United Kingdom and America.
Have
an understanding as to the limits to mediation as a conflict resolution
mechanism in relation to large groups and cultural conflict.
Have
an understanding of how to write agreements as legal documents.
Understanding
case development practice in respect of pre-case development.
Understand
level of emotions and have developed personal strategies for coping
with own emotions.
Understand
group mediation practice when there is a multiplicity of numbers involved
in a conflict scenario.
Understand
how mediation can help disputants reach effective resolution by identifying
and creating options for disputants.
Have
learned advanced negotiation skills in facilitating dialogue between
disputants in a mediation session.
