Past Volunteers
This is a list of past volunteers who have been involved with PRG during the last few years. If you were a volunteer, but are not included in this list, please feel free to send us a biographical sketch and picture. We would love to hear from you!
Claire Marshall. Claire is an American student from Macalester College who volunteered during her semester abroad on a Democracy and Social Change programme in the spring of 2006. While at the PRG, Claire worked on a number of projects including the Mayor's Initiative, "Prejudice - Face On."

Allison Bryan (Assistant Projects Officer). Allison Bryan is the most recent volunteer from the U.S.- based organisation, Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS). She has a dual B.A. from Manchester College in Peace Studies and Spanish. She is currently involved in PRG's development and facilitation of programmes and projects in the following areas: peer mediation, single-identity, cross-community and citizenship education. She is also responsible for the publication of the newsletter and the editing and maintenance of PRG's course curriculum. Prior to arriving in Northern Ireland, Allison worked as a translator in medical clinics in Indiana and Nicaragua and undertook research on conflict and immigration issues with the Universidad Veracruzana in Mexico.
Kara Guzzetti. Kara Guzzetti was the fifth American Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) volunteer. After graduating from university with a dual-degree in business and sociology, Kara came to the United Kingdom to work in the NGO sector. After volunteering for a year in London at the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), she joined PRG as Assistant Project Officer in August 2003 and was a valued member of staff until her placement ended in August 2004.
Sara Cook . Sara Cook was the fourth American BVS Volunteer at the PRG (2002-203). This was Sara's second visit to Northern Ireland, as she studied at Magee for a semester in 1997. After graduating from university with a dual-degree in social work and history, Sara returned to Northern Ireland to volunteer in the communtiy relations sector. After volunteering for a year in Ballysally, Coleraine she came to PRG to as the Assistant Project Officer until her BVS term ended in September 2003.
Susan Hensel. Susan is a German student who volunteered for PRG while studying for a degree in Peace and Conflict studies at Magee College. (University of Ulster). She worked with the PRG for four months in 2003, helping with projects such as a cross-community photographic project.

Betsy Blundel. Betsy is an American student from Earlham University who volunteered for a semester in the spring of 2002. In addition to other projects, Betsey lent her talents as an accomplished photographer to provide educational materials to the "Shared Identity" photography project.
Dustin Miller. Dustin is a student from the American University, Bluffton College. Dustin completed an internship at PRG during the autumn semester of 2001. While at PRG, Dustin worked on a variety of projects involving compiling training materials for PRG education packages.

Dr. Daniel P. Connerton. Dr. Connerton volunteered with PRG for six months in 2002. He is the Professor of European Studies at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts USA. Dr. Connerton came to L'Derry to work with INCORE at Magee Campus of the University of Ulster during a sabbatical from his University. While in Northern Ireland, he researched the role of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO's) in the rebuilding of Northern Ireland's civic infrastructure post-1998. His work with PRG involved editing publications and cross-community youth exchange.
  Sarah McLaughlin. Sarah was the third Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) volunteer to serve as the Assistant Projects Officer (2000 to 2002). Originally from the United States, Sarah came to PRG to learn more about Northern Ireland and to work with young people from both communities. During her time in L'Derry, Sarah worked with a variety of groups in both single-identity and cross-community projects.
     
  Holly White. Holly volunteered from 1998 to 2000 as the second BVS volunteer at PRG. Holly spearheaded several projects, including the "Mapping Our Millennium" cross-border youth and citizenship conference. After her return to the United States, Holly has maintained close contact with Northern Ireland and L'Derry.
     
  Mysti Roberts. Mysti was the brave first BVS volunteer at the PRG. She volunteered for a year 1997 to 1998, before returning to the States. While at the PRG, she tackled multiple projects, including a youth exchange trip involving young people from L'Derry and Germany.
     
  Jan Caspers. Jan was one of the first international volunteers to serve at the PRG. He first began his association with the organisation approximately 13 years ago. Originally from Germany, Jan has made Derry his home for over a decade. PRG has reaped the benefits of his commitment and creativity through his work with children and groups.
