Exploring Diversity: Facilitating Community Relations Work (10 day course)

Time: 10am- 4pm
THIS COURSE AIMS TO:
* Provide participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to facilitate cross community programmes with diverse groups.
* Help participants understand and practice the facilitation skills necessary for community relations work.
* Help participants develop an understanding of Northern Ireland history since the Act of Union in 1801.
* Design a programme targeted at different groups and tailored according to the participants age, religion and any other relevant social indicators (i.e. gender, ethnic and racial background and religion)
* Have an awareness of how to develop an Anti-Sectarian Policy.
* Understand demographic changes in Northern Ireland.
* As part of the experiential learning process all participants will be asked to devise and facilitate and evaluate a community relations programme.
